Being true to yourself
Are you being true to yourself? Are you showing your true feelings? Are you pretending all is ok when actually all is in turmoil? Not being your true self can stop your horse from connecting with you. It can cause them to hold back from showing their true feelings. It can feel like their is a barrier between you and you are just not meeting in the middle. You may feel that you are not connecting even that the relationship has broken down. But what if your horse was following your lead. Perhaps some thing traumatic has happened in your life and you have not let the emotions out. You have put a protective barrier around yourself stopping anyone or anything from getting to close.Your horse will feel your heartache, but unable to reach you he or she backs off. You both go through the day doing all the routine stuff. To the outside world all will look ok, but, you know the connection is disappearing. Suddenly there is a wall between you and your horse both on the ground and when being ridden.Confusion rains with no one taking the lead to talk and let go.Today I have had a refresher course on letting emotions go. One of my beautiful girls had a healing. Philly is to shortly leave us, this is some thing I have no control over. I am preparing her and the herd for the separation. But I forgot one element of the herd, "me". As Philly was having her healing the word denial was spoken, describing how Philly was feeling. She felt the healing but would not let go. Towards the end her healer worked on the throat chakra. The emotional centre, she kept knocking and nudging me and would not let go. As I stood with her I could feel the emotion rising deep within. I could not stop it and my tears fell. As this happened Philly stood close with her head next to my heart and started to release. We had both spent the last three weeks in denial and shelving what will soon happen. As the waves of emotion washed over us our connection felt deeper than ever. With the wall of denial broken down we can now enjoy our last few weeks together before she returns home. Emotions are powerful work with them and they can give you strength and enable you to fly. Work against them and the energy becomes heavy and the barrier surrounding you becomes thicker. If you feel your relationship with your horse changing, take a moment to look at you and what is happening in your life. Then stand quietly with your horse and talk to them as the emotions come let them out. Let the sun shine on you both and feel yourself start to smile again.Remember your horse knows you inside out and nothing can be hidden from them. x
