Mindfulness
More and more during my healing sessions I am having to help the horse still the mind. A busy mind can bring about a change in behaviour even illness. The same as us if you can not switch off the head then you are ungrounded. A lot of horses have not had the best start in life. This can start from weaning or backing and training. They are pushed too hard and can not cope. One of my clients who is now in his forever home had been sold and sold. All because he could not do what the ticket said. Bred to event, body to event but head blown. The slightest thing can send him running scared, from a bird or a squirrel moving. His Mum has given this horse time to grow in body and strength. But they have hit a brick wall and can not seem to move forward. I scanned Ben and found where his body is blocked but it was his head that worried me more. He found it so difficult to focus and concentrate. His mind was all over the place reacting to the slightest noise, movement and checking on his equine friends.I gave Ben healing but knew I needed to reach inside his head, to bring him peace.I worked with healing energy with Ben and used my own body to show him how to come down. Stroking down his body and then going deep within until we became one. During this I may be chanting, breathing so deeply sounds come from deep within. All at a level that the horses hear. They join me as we take out energy down. Slowly I bend at the waist and as I did Ben's head lowered. We continued like this until I was bent double and Ben's nose was on my feet. Both of us in a place of peace, a place of grounding, a place of deep connection. At last Ben's mind was quiet. We stayed like this for a while until I started to very slowly bring our awareness back to the present.I then spent time with Ben's Mum explaining what she now needed to do. His behaviour has been sorted, his body worked by physios etc now it is time for mindfulness.......x
